An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a talented, enthusiastic and experienced Senior Java Developer at one of Edinburgh’s leading Digital Technology Agencies, kraya.

The Developer is responsible for technical design, implementation, deployment and management and support of software systems.  The Developer is also responsible for mentoring and training more junior members of the team.

Person Specification

We are looking for a strong, enthusiastic Developer with excellent Java skills and experience of full life-cycle development, to join an established development team.  While this is primarily a Java role, the candidate should have a good understanding of web technologies, with a willingness to learn new technologies.
This role covers all aspects of development from conception, planning, building, testing through to implementation and support.

Candidates should have at least 2-3 years commercial development experience, and a demonstrable track record as a lead developer delivering small to medium sized projects.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is confident developing on all tiers using the following technologies:

• Java EE 5(Hibernate, Spring (2.6), EJB3.1, SEAM, JWS/AXIS)
• Java Tools (Maven, Eclipse, JBoss 5)
• RDBMS (PostgreSQL/Oracle/MSSQL Server)
• Javascript (Ajax/jQuery)
• Testing (Junit/Selenium/TestNG, JMock)
• Source Control (SVN, CVS/Git)
• Misc (SOAP, REST)
• CSS/XHTML/XSLT/XML

Additionally, the following skills will be advantageous:
Web Analytics (Google Analytics/Webtrends)
Exposure to Content Management Systems
Digital Agency experience
